I am a grouse hunter and occasional sporting clays shooter. After and accumulation of a lifetime of shooting at game, with no hearing protection, and the everyday high-volume noises many of us are subjected to, I developed a strong hearing deficiency, in one ear in particular. It became unsafe for me to be hunting with a partner as I got so I wasn't sure where they were in the woods at all times. Sometimes thinking they were in locations that they weren't - my ears playing tricks on me. Same thing with knowing where my dog is in the woods - and quickly picking up were a bird is flushing. These hearing aids have helped with those problems. I only use them for amplification benefits, as well as protecting my shooting from doing further damage. I could care less about the bluetooth/smartphone availability. I'm in the woods to get away from all that. Good product at a reasonable price. Wish I wasn't worried all the time about heavy cover knocking them out of my ears. Heavy wind is a problem, but not a deal breaker, certainly.
